A large energy provider has been growing at a rapid pace over the past few years by acquiring competitive energy production and cogeneration facilities. The company needed to improve their processes and build consistency across its facilities.
Solution
Dashe & Thomson analyzed high-level business processes within the Operations, Power Marketing, and Asset Management areas and made recommendations for process improvements.
- Gained consensus on the five functions of the power plant rating process across all regions of North America; documented the process, designed the architecture for intranet delivery and developed the infrastructure for future process documentation.
- Facilitated the redesign, piloting, implementation, and training of a standardized Cost Tracking process; developed documentation and training materials for rollout of the new standardized processes.
- Documented the Power Marketing processes to prepare the company for a Standard and Poor’s audit.
- Continuing to re-engineer Asset Management processes in all facilities.
