eLearning Development - Case 1
Industry: Computer Hardware

The Need
A nationally known developer, manufacturer, and supplier of computer printers and imaging solutions was upgrading their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. As added users in more locations used expanded functionality of the PLM system, the need for a comprehensive training strategy increased. The company wanted to:
- Ensure that users received high quality training.
- Increase user acceptance of the PLM software.
- Reduce support calls.
- Maintain the training materials internally.

Solution
Dashe & Thomson designed a comprehensive set of eLearning modules to ensure that users received high quality training and to increase acceptance of the software. By using rapid authoring eLearning tools, Dashe & Thomson produced a series of robust, engaging lessons that included video, audio narration, as well as “Tell Me,” “Show Me,” and “Try It” interactions.

Results
The eLearning modules provided high quality training and increased acceptance of the software across the company. The choice of eLearning tool allowed the company to easily maintain the training modules. The company’s training strategy evolved away from classroom training to a complete reliance on self-paced eLearning. As a result of the training, system utilization went up, and Help Desk support activity went down.
