Employee Communications

Industry: Pharmaceutical
The Need

A pharmaceutical company was planning to implement Documentum, an enterprise content management (ECM) system. The company understood that a massive communication plan was necessary to lay the groundwork for user adoption of new processes and software. They called Dashe & Thomson to see if we could provide this assistance.

Solution

One of Dashe & Thomson senior communication specialists created a communication plan designed for the target audiences. The plan addressed key constituencies and their concerns and issues. The plan specified the type of the messages to be delivered, the type of media used, the message owners, and timing of the messages. Strategies included animated PowerPoint presentations, personalized emails, phone messages from senior executives, and a poster campaign. The target audiences within the company were given information on how the system would affect them, updates on the progress of the new implementation, and messages about the new processes.

Results

Because of the high level and quality of communication throughout the project, resistance was greatly reduced and users adapted much more quickly and easily to the change than with previous implementations.
